Once you're on the Summary page, click Back to Dashboard.

Select the Gmail API scope and click Update.

On the Scopes wizard page, click Add or Remove Scopes.

Configure the Oauth consent screen and click Save and Continue.

Once you've made your selection, click the blue Create button.

If you use a personal GMail account, External is the only option.

For Google Workspace/GSuite, select Internal as the User Type.

If you have already set this up, skip to step 14. If you haven't set up the consent screen, you will need to click the blue Configure Consent Screen button.

Once you have enabled it, click the Credentials link on the left menu.

Once the project is created, click on the search box and look for GMail API.

Name your project and click the Create button.

When you're on that page, click Create Project.
